KEBF lost its signal in Morro Bay in mid-November

“The winds from the Nov. 15th storm blew our entire antenna structure over,” states KEBF(LP) on its website.

The damage took out its 97.3 signal serving Morro Bay. The station continues to stream online and to be heard via a sister LPFM signal on 107.9 in Paso Robles.

“We need your help to return your community radio station to the airwaves in Morro Bay. Please help us now with your tax-deductible donation. Thank you.”

According to its website, “The Rock Community Radio, aka 97.3/107.9 The Rock, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization operated and supported by listeners and residents of San Luis Obispo County, Calif. We connect the Central Coast with hyper-local, engaging and creative community-based FM radio and online programming. We also provide Paso Robles, Templeton, Atascadero, Morro Bay, Los Osos and Cayucos public safety programming, emergency preparedness education and  Emergency Alert announcements.”

The tower is owned by the city of Morro Bay, and KEBF’s management worries it may not be replaced. Founder Hal Abrams said volunteers are searching for possible new tower space to mount the antenna.
