Hoelzel Dies at 56

Bill Hoelzel, former VP of QEI Corp. died this week of heart failure. He reportedly had completed a bicycle marathon before he died.
The 56-year-old was one of the co-founders of QEI, along with president Charlie Haubrick and John Pilman.
Hoelzel worked at QEI for 21 years and he’s credited as one of the forces driving QEI toward solid-state development.
He left the company in 1993 to start his own ski and sports equipment business in Mt. Laurel, N.J. called Eastern Sports Specialists.
Most recently he worked for Verizon.
He would have been 57 on June 19.
