Ibiquity Certifies Atmel's IC for IBOC Receivers

Ibiquity Digital has certified a tuner chip by semiconductor maker Atmel Corp. for use in car and home HD Radio receivers.
The Atmel T4260 RF tuner chip is used to tune the radio and converts the signal into a frequency that the receiver can decode.
Amtel says the flexible IF output frequency enables receiver designers to adapt the IC to various customers’ needs.
Ibiquity COO Jeff Jury says the chip will give receiver manufacturers another tuner design option, which will help them get HD Radios to market faster and help reduce manufacturing costs.
