As the Radio Show convention opens here in Atlanta, iBiquity Digital is highlighting a dozen more car models that it says are now in showrooms and have HD Radio available.
They are Acura ILX and RDX, Alfa Romeo 4C, Audi TT, Fiat 500x, Honda Accord, Hyundai Elantra GT and Veloster, Jeep Renegade, Mazda Miata MX-5, and Scion iA and iM.
Further penetration of the car market has been an iBiquity goal, and its automotive footprint was one of the reasons cited by DTS Inc. in its recently announced acquisition of the technology company, which is expected to be finalized soon.
In June iBiquity put the number of models available with HD Radio at more than 200. It says the digital radio technology is available as a factory-installed feature from all major auto manufacturers in the United States.
At the Radio Show, iBiquity is in Booth 27 at the rear of the show floor.
