IDC Welcomes New Director

Senior telecommunications industry executive Kevin Rankin has filled a vacancy on the International Datacasting Corp. (IDC) board of directors.

Senior telecommunications industry executive Kevin Rankin has filled a vacancy on the International Datacasting Corp. (IDC) board of directors.

“I am pleased with the addition of Kevin Rankin to our board of directors. He brings a wealth of knowledge and depth of understanding of the telecommunications market to our team,” said Ron Clifton, president and chief executive of IDC.

A chemical engineering and management graduate, Rankin is president of the Stoney Group and serves as an advisory board member for the Ontario Centre of Excellence for Photonics, for privately held Ashton Electronic Systems and for The Bridge Wesleyan Church in Kanata, Ontario.

He has held senior management positions with companies including Nortel and Newbridge Networks. Rankin was also a founder of Tropic Networks Inc. and was chief executive from its inception in June 2000 to the successful sale of the company to Alcatel-Lucent in April 2007.
