IHeartRadio ‘Connects’ With Nissan

Streamed stations can be accessed in-car with a special auto app

Clear Channel Media + Entertainment’s iHeartRadio is coming to some 2014 Nissans this fall. Clear Channel’s streaming platform will be available as part of the in-dash enfotainment systems of models equipped with NissanConnect, the integration platform for Android and iPhone smartphones.

Once the driver connects a compatible smartphone with the NissanConnect application, users can control and personalize their iHeartRadio listening through the dashboard or by using the steering wheel controls. With the iHeartRadio for Auto app, listeners can create custom stations and have in-dash access to tuner features like thumbs up/thumbs down, station scan and discovery.

Clear Channel President of Digital Brian Lakamp says the broadcaster worked with Nissan to design its iHeartRadio app and integration into NissanConnect system in a way that minimizes driver distraction. Nissan drivers can tune to radio stations anywhere “without having to worry about driving out of range.”
