Dielectric Communications officials are handling the aftermath of the tornado that moved through southern Indiana this weekend. The company said its tower manufacturing plant in Newburgh was hit.
Dielectric acquired the Central Tower engineering and manufacturing operation in Newburgh in 2001.
No one was hurt in the storm, according to a spokeswoman for parent company SPX Corp. The facility was closed Monday and company officials met at a nearby company office to assess their next steps. About 70 people are employed by the firm there.
Photos from the scene show collapsed or damaged structures, walls and ceilings, and wind-swept debris, including a tipped-over truck and an automobile apparently thrown onto a pile of tower sections.
The tornado caused numerous deaths in southern Indiana and parts of Kentucky early on Sunday.
