The FCC appears to be in no mood to go easy in indecency cases right now.
On Friday (March 5) it announced that it has rejected a petition by Infinity in a case involving material aired on WKRK(FM) in Detroit on the “Deminski and Doyle Show.”
Infinity wanted the commission to reconsider its $27,500 fine. The FCC had found that broadcast “included explicit and graphic sexual and excretory references, that the material was extremely lewd and vulgar, and that it was used to pander, titillate and shock.”
In January, Infinity argued its case again on constitutional and other grounds. The FCC said the arguments were repetitive and upheld the fine.
