Dallas-based USA Radio Network Inc. says it has merged with Information Radio Network out of Memphis. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The new company will be called IRN/USA Radio Network and will have a combined affiliate base of some 2,500 radio stations. USA says it will be able to provide timely and relevant news and information to radio stations across the country.
USA’s news operations will relocate to the Memphis newsroom but a bureau will still be maintained at the Dallas facility. Commercial sales, affiliate sales, affiliate relations and program syndication will remain in Dallas. Programming on both networks will remain unchanged, the companies said. The official cut-over date will be March 3.
