Cumulus Media has hired Aaron Ishmael for the position of market chief engineer in Macon, Ga.
He will be responsible for overseeing Cumulus’ five FMs and three AMs there; he reports to Market Manager John Sheftic and Regional Engineer Troy Pennington (Nashville).
Most recently Ishmael was chief engineer for Wescoast Broadcasting’s KPQ(AM/FM); he was also chief for Morris Communications in Wenatchee, Wash., and assistant engineer for Jefferson Pilot Communications in Denver.
Readers may recall his name; Ishmael, 23, was among the people profiled by Radio World in a feature on young engineers in February.
