J.C. Watts to Smiley Show on NPR

Starting next week, former Congressman J.C. Watts Jr. will be a Tuesday commentator on NPR’s “Tavis Smiley Show.”
“As an entrepreneur, minister, father and former congressman, Watts will bring his unique personal and political views to the program that presents news and opinion from an African American perspective,” NPR stated.
Smiley’s show is carried on approximately 80 stations and has spawned a TV show on PBS. NPR says he is the first African American to host one of its signature programs. It credits the show with helping its audience grow in the past five years from 13 million to 22 million listeners per week. The show is nearing the end of its second season.
