Jones Promoted at CEI

He has been named sales and marketing VP

Michael R. “Spike” Jones has been promoted to vice president of sales and marketing for national broadcast, audio-visual and multimedia system integrator Communications Engineering Inc.

According to a release, he will be responsible for the direction and strategy of CEI’s growing sales and marketing teams and for driving new revenues.

“I am excited about the opportunity to lead CEI’s sales and marketing teams in this remarkable time of advancing media technology, said Jones. “The transition to high performance IP infrastructures for both broadcast and AV is accelerating, making the tremendous depth of CEI’s system design and implementation teams especially valuable to our customers.”

Jones has 34 years of industry experience and an in-depth understanding of broadcast, AV and media IT technology, the company says in the announcement. He joined CEI four years ago, serving as associate vice president of business development. Prior to CEI, Jones was senior director of business and solutions development for Canadian integrator AZCAR. Previously, he held positions with the Media and Entertainment Group at Marconi Communications (formerly Fore Systems) developing global, broadband video networks, as well as 20 years in live event production engineering with Unitel Mobile Video in Pittsburgh, Pa., and CFTO (now CTV) in Canada.

He also won an Emmy for his contribution to the 2000 NBC Olympics engineering team in Sydney.

CEI is a full-service, system consulting, design and implementation company headquartered in Newington, Va., focused on radio and television broadcast, audio visual and multimedia industries.
