Five urban legends will be saluted at the upcoming I Rock the Mic Conference.
Sizzle Productions announced the honorees: gospel radio pioneer and industry exec Irene Johnson-Ware; air talent Tom Joyner; “king of the dusties” Chicago talent Herb Kent; radio pioneer and editor Walt “Baby” Love; and air talent Donnie Simpson.
ABC Radio Networks host Doug Banks will host; Elroy R.C. Smith, operations manager of Radio One Philadelphia, plans a special tribute and award presentation to Joyner.
