Kingston TLI Uplinks For WorldSpace

Satellite communications specialist Kingston TLI is providing uplink services for more than 15 channels of news, music, entertainment and educational programming from Europe to the WorldSpace systems of digital broadcasting satellites.
Kingston TLI is also providing WorldSpace redundant and diverse connectivity from WorldSpace offices in Soho, London, to the teleport in Bedford, England. The uplink started broadcasting to the AfriStar satellite in Oct. 1999.
“WorldSpace needed to find an uplink facility that offered both convenience and economy,” said Kingston TLI Deputy Managing Director Chris Russell.
“Our Bedford teleport is ideally located – suitably close to London so as to offer affordable connectivity and geographically sited so that frequency clearance within the AfriStar-approved uplink frequencies is not an issue,” he said.
