Cumulus Media Networks will offer a new overnight radio show hosted by country musician Kix Brooks beginning October 1.
“Kickin’ it With Kix” will air Monday through Friday from midnight to 5 a.m. and feature artists discussing the stories behind their music. Listeners may interact through social media.
Brooks will continue to host “American Country Countdown with Kix Brooks,” a countdown show airing on 350 radio stations nationwide. Brooks has hosted the countdown for six years and has won two Country Music Association awards for National Broadcasting Personality of the Year.
Donna Britt, producer and writer for “American Country Countdown” will co-host “Kickin’ it With Kix,” for which she will also write and produce. Britt is a two-time Marconi Award nominee and has co-hosted morning shows on WSM(AM) in Nashville, as well as KMJX(FM) in Little Rock, Ark. and WEGR(FM) in Memphis, Tenn.
“I can’t tell you how much I enjoy bringing all of the great songs and talent to our listeners each and every week. It really is one of the best seats in the house,” said Brooks.
Brooks is one half of the chart-topping country music duo “Brooks and Dunn.” He also served as president, in 2004, and chairman, in 2005, of the CMA.
