Multicasting is part of the plan for a radio station in Helena, Mont.
Broadcast Electronics says KMTX Inc., the former Capri Inc., purchased an FMi 106 transmitter package as the first step in a five-year HD Radio plan that includes multicasting, data services and listener education about digital radio.
The package is for KMTX(FM) in Helena, Mont. The chief engineer is Shawn Ketchum, who was quoted by BE as saying, “Our goal is to put out a product that is toe-to-toe with XM and Sirius.”
The station will use a separate antenna for HD Radio.
