KUSC, Other Southern California Public Stations Become Ibiquity Licensees

And in Southern California, KUSC(FM) in Los Angeles says it is that area’s first noncommercial licensee of HD Radio. The station is owned by the University of Southern California.
Fellow public stations KCPB(FM) in Thousand Oaks, KFAC(FM) in Santa Barbara and KPSC(FM) in Palm Springs also have signed HD Radio licenses with Ibiquity Digital.
KUSC is part of a Los Angeles-area radio network providing classical music and arts programming.
“HD Radio technology opens the door for public broadcasters, such as KUSC, to offer digital quality and superior services to their loyal listeners,” stated Ibiquity President/CEO Bob Struble.
Brenda Barnes, president and general manager of KUSC(FM), said, “Classical music deserves and demands the highest quality transmission possible.”
