Lobbying continues at the FCC for and against the proposed merger of the U.S. satellite radio companies.
Legal representatives for Sirius and XM met with the chairman recently to review pending issues.
They urged prompt approval of the merger, according to an FCC filing.
In a recent meeting with FCC Commissioner Michael Copps, NAB representatives reiterated they believe the merger would create a monopoly and not be in the public interest “given the applicants’ record of violations of the commission’s rules,” according to an April 25 filing.
