NAB Announces Personnel Changes

Schulte to retire, Cumming, Ingram to SVP

Valerie Schulte

The National Association of Broadcasters has announced several personnel changes.

NAB Deputy General Counsel Valerie Schulte will retire on Friday after serving the organization since 1980.

Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton made the announcement today, saying that the “NAB family wishes Valerie nothing but the best.”

During her tenure, Schulte has worked on legal issues spanning children’s television regulations, the digital TV transition, digital radio and satellite radio.

In addition, the NAB has added a “senior” to the title of two of its vice presidents.

Ann Marie Cumming is now SVP, Communications.

Ann Marie Cumming

She picks up some new duties and will continue to oversee NAB’s newsrooms at the Radio Show and the NAB Show in Las Vegas. She reports to EVP Communications Dennis Wharton.

Cumming rejoined the Communications Department full-time in January, 2011. She originally joined the NAB Government Relations staff in 1994 following a stint in the office of Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt. She later moved to the Communications department where she worked for five years and was promoted to director, Media Relations. In between full-time NAB stints she was a consultant for the NAB Communications Department.

Shermaze Ingram

NAB also promoted Shermaze Ingram to SVP, Marketing and Creative Services. She was vice president in the department since June, 2009. Ingram came to NAB in January 2007 from Discovery Communications to become senior director of media relations for NAB’s consumer education campaign on the DTV transition. Ingram handles much of the marketing for the Radio Show. She reports to NAB Marketing EVP Michelle Lehman.
