NAB Sneak Peek: AEQ Supports IP

New codec to show along with IP-compatible consoles and intercoms

AEQ says it has “reinvented the concept of the portable codec” with its new Phoenix Alio (shown). It has a tablet-style format while retaining the tradition hardware codec features. The Alio is SIP-N/ACIP-compliant. When connected to other AEQ codecs, it can utilize “Smart RTP” tools to optimize the connection. It is also compatible with the ControlPhoenix codec remote control software protocol.

The company will also be showing an evolution of its Capitol and Forum digital consoles. The Capitol-IP and Forum-IP offer Dante audio over IP technology along with some redesigned hardware elements.

In addition, AEQ will be showing intercom gear developed by its Kroma division. The CrossNET analog and digital intercom matrix will offer up to 168 x 168 ports. It will also be compatible with Dante audio over IP systems and products, including AEQ’s Series 8000 products.
