Digital radio technology developer iBiquity has redesigned the consumer and broadcaster website aimed at promoting HD Radio and launched what the company says is the first HD Radio Guide app for iOS and Android.
IBiquity Digital SVP Joe D’Angelo tells Radio World that the new HDRadio.com simplifies the message to consumers and broadcasters “so they get the same experience of what HD Radio offers,” and not from solely a corporate perspective. IBiquity worked with consumer focus groups, broadcasters and partner to develop the mobile and online platform.
Consumers can visit the site to learn about the technology and sample local station content available on HD Radio stations as well as learn about new products and share their experiences with other HD users. The product information has been updated.
Broadcasters can see resources pertaining to them on programming, promotion and technical operations to help them implement HD Radio.
The station guide has been updated with links to station contact information, websites and social media.
The HD Radio Guide App is designed to help consumers learn about content and discover HD2/HD3 and HD4 stations. Using the interactive station guide, consumers can connect with local digital stations through SMS, phone and social media networks. The app includes a guide to available HD Radio receivers for purchase, including “buy” links. To get the app, text “app” to 25859 or download it through the iTunes App store or Google Play Android Market.
