Audacy is launching three audio streams covering weather and climate news, the result of a content distribution agreement with Allen Media Group.
The streams are the Weather Channel television network, Pattrn and The Weather Channel en Español. “Audacy users can now tune into the new streams on the Audacy app and website,” the company said.
The Weather Channel stream will be available only during severe weather events as an audio simulcast of the television feed.
The Pattrn stream is a daily live audio simulcast of the Pattrn FAST channel, which covers climate and the environment.
The Weather Channel en Español stream is a daily live audio simulcast of that television network, featuring Spanish-language weather and news.
The announcement was made by Audacy’s Senior Vice President, Digital Audio Content Tim Clarke and Allen Media Group Chairman/CEO Byron Allen, who founded the company in 1993; it also owns TV stations and HD television networks, and produces and sells advertising for TV programs.
