New English Station for Qatar

Qatar Foundation to commence all-English broadcast

QF Radio, an operation of the Qatar Foundation, a social and educational foundation based in Qatar, will launch an all-English broadcast on 91.7 FM. The station will switch to a 100% Arabic format on 93.7 FM, where it currently airs a mix of Arabic and English-language programming.

QF Radio, which aims to “support Qatar on its journey from a carbon economy to a knowledge economy by unlocking human potential,” also said that it would transfer to a new headquarters located behind the Mathaf Arab Museum of Modern Art in Education City on the outskirts of Doha.

QF Radio delivers its programs across all segments of society by means of the Internet, smartphones and other developing technologies.

In addition to broadcasting music and news, the station airs programs for students, featuring cultural and scientific issues. It also covers important events outside the capital such as the Asian Cup, the Qatar Marine Festival in Katara and the Qatar National Day on the Corniche.
