A new safety video regarding changes made to the national tower climbing and construction safety practices has been released by NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Communications Association. It lasts just under 10 minutes and is worth your broadcast engineering team’s time.
The video looks deeper at revisions included in the ANSI/ASSP A10.48-2023 Standard, a critical guide for broadcast tower maintenance. James Ruedlinger, VP of engineering for Fullwave Tower & Broadcast, talks with host Sean Gilhooley in the video about the addition of a section on electrical safety, various nomenclature adjustments and the introduction of new exceptions and operational requirements.

This is the sixth video NATE has released as part of Volume 7 of its Climber Connection Series, a campaign designed to promote safety for the elevated workforce. The series can be watched on NATE’s YouTube channel. They’ve also made available for purchase a copy of the revised ANSI/ASSP 10.48-2023 Standard in its entirety.
