NewBay to Combine N.Y. Operations

‘Darling, I love you but give me Park Avenue (or something close by) …

Taking advantage of a favorable Manhattan real estate market and wanting to integrate its recent acquisitions, NewBay Media, publisher of Radio World, TV Technology and the recently acquired Broadcasting & Cable, announced consolidation plans for its New York operations and the company’s headquarters.

NewBay Media leased enough space to combine the existing NewBay operations with its newest acquisitions, which are also based in Manhattan.

The new location is on East 28th Street between Park and Madison Avenues, in a building that hosts other publishers and similar media operations such as Ziff Davis Media and CBS Interactive/CNET. A staggered move-in is planned to take place over the next year. In a memo to employees, CEO Steve Palm called it “an A-level facility.”

“With our recent acquisition of Broadcasting & Cable, Multichannel News and TWICE, we wanted to find a space that would house our expanded New York team, in a creative, vibrant and exciting part of the city,” he said. “We’ve accomplished these goals at 28 E.28th Street and look forward to having everyone under one roof.”

The offices of Radio World and related publications based in Virginia, near the nation’s capital, are not affected.
