News Directors to Look at Crisis Planning

News Directors to Look at Crisis Planning

Crisis planning will be on the agenda at the RTNDA@NAB show in Las Vegas. Organizers say that despite 9/11, many newsrooms still don’t have emergency plans or information they need to help keep information flowing to the public should another terrorist attack occur.
A session called “Homeland Security: Is Your Newsroom Ready?” is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at the Hilton during the show. Panelists will be on hand from the ANSER research corporation, Los Alamos National Laboratory, the Las Vegas Office of Emergency Management, KPIX(TV) in San Francisco, KOA(AM) in Denver and the Department of Homeland Security. John McWethy of ABC News will moderate. This session is part of the convention of The Radio-Television News Directors Association. Info: www.rtnda.org/convention/registration.asp.
