The board of Andrew Corp. named vice chairman and CFO Charles R. Nicholas to succeed Dr. Floyd L. English as chairman when the latter retires in February.
English will have served as chairman for 10 years; he was president and CEO for 20 years before that.
Nicholas has been Andrew’s CFO since 1986,” English said in a statement.
The board also named Philip Wm. Colburn, former chairman of Allen Telecom Inc., and Robert G. Paul, former CEO of Allen, to the board. Andrew merged with Allen this month.
And it appointed Marty R. Kittrell, now vice president of strategic planning, as CFO effective in October.
Effective immediately, Gregory F. Maruszak takes on the newly created role of chief compliance officer, responsible for guiding the company through implementation of requirements created by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and other corporate governance and compliance matters. Daniel J. Hartnett, currently tax director, has been promoted to the new role of vice president of tax and elected as a corporate officer of Andrew Corp.
