No sooner had we saluted Charles Osgood’s extension of the contract for his iconic “Osgood Files” with Westwood One than he abruptly announced he is retiring from the radio mic.
Osgood cited health reasons for the change in direction; specifically “doctor’s orders.” He has been recently treated for cancer.
The “Osgood Files” have aired for almost 50 years.
