Pandora has hired someone from the world of recording labels as a top executive.
Lars Murray has joined the Internet audio service as vice president of Industry Relations and will lead the company’s collaboration with a coalition of music industry stakeholders. He reports to Chief Strategy Officer Sara Clemens.
“Pandora is committed to building a vibrant, sustainable future for the music industry,” said Pandora President/Chairman/CEO Brian McAndrews. “With this hire, we’ve added a widely respected thought leader to help take us there.”
Murray has 20+ years in the recording industry; most recently he was vice president of Digital Media at Columbia Records. At Columbia he led a digital marketing operation focused on helping artists leverage digital platforms to grow and activate their audiences, according to Pandora.
