Chairman Brendan Carr has named Hunter Deeley as the next chief of the FCC Enforcement Bureau.
Deeley came to the commission as an assistant bureau chief in 2023. Since mid-2025 he has been chief of staff and deputy chief at Enforcement. He also has worked at the Department of Justice in the National Security Division’s Foreign Investment Review Section, and as a special assistant attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.
Outgoing Enforcement Bureau Chief Patrick Webre “will continue to serve the commission in a senior role in the Office of Managing Director,” Carr said in the announcement.
Webre began his second stint at the commission in 2017 and since then has held leadership roles in several bureaus, according to his LinkedIn profile. He became head of Enforcement in January of last year.
