Carlos Avila has joined Nautel as its new territory manager for Latin America and the Caribbean. In a press release, Nautel said Avila has been in the broadcast industry for 40 years, with education in electrical engineering and economics.
He is centrally-located in Brazil “to bring superior service to customers in the territory,” said Nautel.
Avila’s background includes the design and manufacturing of RF circuits. According to the company, Avila has provided technical support all over Brazil and other countries in South America, including the commissioning of AM and FM transmitters.
Wendell Lonergan, Nautel’s senior director of broadcast sales, said “Carlos’ extensive knowledge of Nautel transmitters and experience as a Nautel agent in South America since 1996 gives him an immediate start in providing high quality support throughout the entire sales and commissioning process.”
He replaces Gerardo Vargas, who retired late last year.
