I hope you’ll join me and hundreds of your engineering colleagues at the Nautel Radio Technology Forum on the Sunday morning of the NAB Show.
The annual meeting of the “NUG” will take place at the Flamingo Las Vegas beginning at 8:30 a.m., hosted by Jeff Welton.
You don’t have to be a Nautel user to attend the free event, and you can come for all or just some of the talks in case you need to scoot. But I’ll be there once again to kick things off with an overview of what I’ll be watching for at the convention. And Nautel is teasing us by promising that there will be a “potentially provocative presentation” shortly after I speak, called “EAS at the Edge.” (I know a little about this intriguing topic, but I am sworn to secrecy.)
The first hour of the day is formatted as an Industry Briefing Breakfast. The remainder of the morning covers product announcements and other industry speakers, concluding with Jeff giving his “tips and tricks” that are so enjoyable. A free lunch follows.
Then there is an “HD Radio 101” session in the afternoon, “directed to anyone contemplating an HD radio deployment or just wanting a refresh on HD Radio transmission best practices.”
The forum qualifies for one-half of an SBE Recertification credit. This event has been very popular over the years, despite the disruption of the pandemic and the rejiggering of show schedules over at the LVCC.
