Playboy Radio Reports 1 Million Subscribers on Sirius

Playboy Radio said more than 1 million subscribers have opted in to its new channel on Sirius.
A PR executive called the number a “strong example of how traditional media companies can be successful on multiple platforms,” and said the company is particularly pleased “because many people didn’t think Playboy – a primarily visual medium – would work on radio.”
The company also noted that the channel is supported by advertising. Sirius Canada now has launched the channel as well.

An earlier venture between Playboy and XM, which required listeners to pay a premium subscription, didn’t take.
