Plug-In Emulates Classic Pultec EQ

Universal Audio has released the Pultec EQP-1A Program Equalizer for the UAD-1 Powered Plug-ins family. The plug-ins are marketed by Mackie Designs.
The Pultec plug-in is a reproduction of a hardware equalizer that the company says is preferred by many mastering engineers for its ability to bring out individual frequency ranges without significantly altering other frequencies.
Universal Audio included features of the vintage hardware EQ, including separate boost and attenuation controls, “smooth sweet top end” and the ability to dial in “dangerous” amounts of boost. Front-panel controls are included in the graphical user interface, including modeling of the original knob tapers.
UAD-1 Version 2.2.2, which includes the Pultec EQ, is available as a free download from www.mackie.co or http://uaudio.com.
