PRI to Distribute More CBC Programs

New content includes ‘As It Happens,’ and ‘Q’

Public Radio International is now the exclusive distributor of certain content from the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. in the United States.

The move expands the partnership between the two non-commercial program producer/distributors.

In addition to “WireTap,” weekly eavesdropping on the profound, the absurd and more with Jonathan Goldstein, PRI will add two CBC programs to its portfolio. They are “As It Happens,” a nightly news and information interview program with Carol Off and Barbara Budd, and “Q,” a daily exploration of culture and entertainment with Jian Ghomeshi. “Q” launches with PRI on May 31 and “As It Happens” on July 1.

CBC Radio Programming Director Chris Boyce said the broadcaster believes its programs “will complement and enrich the on-air/online experience of American listeners.”
