Radio Unica (NASDAQ:UNCA), a 24-hour nationwide Spanish-language network and SportsYA! (www.sportsya.com), a Spanish- and Portuguese-language sports Internet portal serving the Latin American, Spanish and U.S. Hispanic radio markets, have agreed to a strategic marketing alliance.
As a part of the deal, Radio Unica will invest $3 million in SportsYA!. The partnership will provide Radio Unica and SportsYA!’s users with access to sports information and merchandise online. Radio Unica’s Web site (www.radiounica.com) will contain SportsYA!’s distribution content and information. The companies will participate in a cross-promotion program to drive traffic to the other’s Web site.
According to the company, Radio Unica Communications Corp. reaches approximately 80 percent of U.S. Hispanics through stations and affiliates.
