RAM Systems is offering the Model SPC2000, which it promotes as a particularly quiet computer and thus suitable for broadcast uses.
Applications include on-air call screening, Internet stream encoding, interface for transmitter remote control, studio Internet access, and interface for automation or network servers.
The company highlights the unit’s small size; it occupies one rack space and is 14 inches deep. Other features include DVD/CD and flash card drives; two front and two rear USB ports; Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz processor; Seagate 80 GB 7200 rpm hard drive; 1 GB RAM; Intel Gigabit Ethernet; onboard XGI Volari Z7 graphics; and Windows XP OS. A Digigram linear stereo soundcard is available as an option.
Warranty is three years. RAM says its engineers work with software vendors and manufacturers such as Ci Design, Intel, LSI, Adaptec, Seagate and Supermicro.
