Mediabase said its Rate the Music online music testing service for stations is working with Critical Mass Media, a research and marketing company, to offer a better way of conducting long-form music research.
The service can complement or replace auditorium testing, the companies said.
“By combining Rate the Music’s online music platform and CMM’s secure research methodology, program directors will have the ability to select their hooklists from the most played songs in any given format, market or station,” the companies stated.
“In addition to testing 600+ titles, the service allows for testing of short perceptual and/or audio-visual questions.”
It launches this week and is available on a cash or barter basis. Mediabase said it will also contribute airplay statistics to construct the best song lists to be tested.
