Regent, Radiolicious Cement Content Deal

Agreement makes 57 radio station streams available to iPhone and iPodTouch users.

Broadcaster Regent Communications inked an agreement with new media company MySimBook to make its 57 radio station streams available to iPhone and iPodTouch users through Radiolicious, a native iPhone application available through the iTunes App Store.

Regent said it’s the first major radio group to contract for all of its streaming stations to be available through the Radiolicious application.

Larry Downes, vice president of technology and digital media at Regent Communications, said the deal is a sign that Regent is expanding its focus on expanding the digital distribution of its station brands.

“This new application will allow our stations to brand the player and create mobile-only contests, promotions and other revenue generating opportunities.”

MySimBook enables users to experience live streaming radio signals on their iPhone and iPod Touch devices.

The manufacturer launched the application this fall.
