RFA to Host Debut D.C. Exhibit of Laos Prince

Radio Free Asia and the Asia Society Washington Center will host an exhibit of artworks by Prince Nithakhong Somsanith of Laos.
The prince is a descendant of the viceroy to the monarchy of Luang Prabang, former kingdom of Laos; according to organizers of the exhibit, and is notable for his work with gold thread embroidery. He will present to discuss his efforts to preserve the heritage of his native country, and answer questions.
The event is on April 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the ground-floor conference area of RFA headquarters in Washington. The exhibit will also be shown 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 23, after which the works will move to the Sharon Fine Gallery in Bethesda, Md.
