Rich Media Seen as Hot Growth Sector

Rich media will be the fastest-growing component of Internet advertising over the coming decade, Kagan Research believes.
The term refers to multiple elements such as video, sound, animation and games or interactive elements in a single ad.
Kagan makes the estimate in its “Advertising Forecasts: 2006” and says rich media was a $1 billion segment last year and will grow at a compound rate of more than 16% through 2015. “That’s tops for the eight web categories standardized by the Interactive Advertising Bureau,” it stated. “The second fastest growing category going forward is search ads in Google and other search engines.”
