APT said its WorldNet Oslo STL system was picked as the core audio platform for a new STL network by Hong Kong public broadcaster RTHK. Five WorldNet Oslo units were supplied by distributor Harvest Scientific & Tech. Co. to connect studio and transmitter sites in the country.
“The new STL network is based on a series of microwave links with the WorldNet Oslos used to encode the audio programming into an E1 stream for delivery on the 1.5 GHz band,” the manufacturer stated.
RTHK is multiplexing 13 channels — six stereo and one mono programs — via an E1 link. APT said the user tested the WorldNet Oslo as well as a number of other manufacturers’ STL systems.
