SCMS Inc. said it is now a U.S. channel partner for the broadcast product line of Kathrein USA, parent of Scala Electric.
Kathrein makes FM radio and TV broadcast antenna systems. SCMS was already a dealer but this expands the relationship; SCMS will sell Scala products now not only to users but also to OEMs and resellers.
SCMS President Bob Cauthen said Kathrein USA has revised and narrowed its distribution structure in part to help with activity and additional customer service related to the TV repack process. “Channel partners generally take on a bigger responsibility than a typical dealer, with more customer service, technical expertise and marketing.” SCMS becomes one of two U.S. channel partners.
Cauthen expects demand for Kathrein products not only from the repack but also from the growth of FM translators for AM stations.
