Sirius Q2 loss about $1.60/share

Sirius Satellite Radio reported earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, amortization and non-cash stock compensation loss of $67.3 million and a net loss applicable to common stockholders of $124.6 million, or $1.62 per share. In comparison, for the second quarter of 2001, Sirius had an EBITDA loss of $32.8 million and a net loss applicable to common stockholders of $72.5 million, or $1.35 per share.
Sirius launched its service nationwide on July 1. At June 30, Sirius had 3,347 subscribers, and 6,510 subscribers as of Aug. 11.
On June 30 Sirius had $326.9 million in cash, cash equivalents, marketable securities and restricted investments, enough cash on hand to fund the company into the second quarter of 2003.
