Dial Global syndicated talk show host Michael Smerconish plans to take 1,000 listeners to Shanksville, Pa. to honor those who died on Flight 93 on 9/11.
The group would take part in the dedication of phase one of the Flight 93 National Memorial. Forty people lost their lives on that United Airlines flight on Sept. 11, 2001, preventing terrorists from ultimately controlling the flight that many experts believe was being diverted to Washington, D.C.
The Michael Smerconish Show originates from Philadelphia. Group busses will leave the Plymouth Meeting Mall in that city Saturday, Sept. 10 at 5:30 a.m. and return at 7 p.m. Smerconish acknowledges the sacrifice of time, but states the importance of attending: “I know it’s often difficult to give up a Saturday, especially with the summer coming to an end and the kids heading back to school, sports and other activities. But I hope you’ll be able to join me on a trip across Pennsylvania to dedicate this hallowed memorial, and to celebrate the lives and honor the heroism of the 40 passengers and crew aboard Flight 93.”
The Dial Global announcement describes its weekday afternoon syndicated Michael Smerconish program host as “an independent thinker leading the new trend in radio – civilized talk.”
