Smith Elected to White House Correspondents' Post

AP Broadcast White House Correspondent Mark Smith was elected president of the White House Correspondents Association. He begins his term in early 2005 after serving as vice president for a year.
The WHCA represents the White House press corps in its dealings with the administration on coverage-related issues. Smith is a 27-year AP veteran. He has covered the White House for AP Broadcast since 1996.
