Sonic Foundry, Sony Under One Umbrella

The Sony Electronics’ Broadcast and Production Systems division is now managing the United States sales and distribution of Sony Media Software’s professional audio and video production tools. These products include the former assets of Sonic Foundry, acquired by Sony Pictures Digital this past summer.
“The capabilities of these software tools complement and strengthen Sony Electronics’ professional audio and video equipment,” said Steve Jacobs, senior vice president of Sony’s Broadcast and Production Systems division. “Under this new arrangement, the combined availability of both hardware and software through our sales and marketing channels now provides professional customers with a complete and unprecedented `one-stop’ Sony-based A/V production workflow from acquisition to online editing to display.”
