‘Spaddy’ Spadafora Passes Away

Engineer, broadcaster and teacher

Vincent “Spaddy” Spadafora passed away after a one-car accident on March 16 in central New York. He was 65.

Spadafora was a four-decade vet of radio, having been on both sides of the mic and had a lengthy career as a teacher at Onondaga Community College in New York as a teacher of radio broadcasting and electronic communications.

He was regionally known as a passionate promoter of high school sports broadcasting, working mostly on WMCR(FM) in Oneida, N.Y. according to this piece at Syracuse.com. From the same source, Spadafora also provided voice work for semi-pro teams as well.

Funeral services will be held 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, at the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home in Canastota. Following, a funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. at St. Agatha’s Church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in Syracuse, N.Y.
