‘Spaddy’ Spadafora Passes Away

Engineer, broadcaster and teacher

Vincent “Spaddy” Spadafora passed away after a one-car accident on March 16 in central New York. He was 65.

Spadafora was a four-decade vet of radio, having been on both sides of the mic and had a lengthy career as a teacher at Onondaga Community College in New York as a teacher of radio broadcasting and electronic communications.

He was regionally known as a passionate promoter of high school sports broadcasting, working mostly on WMCR(FM) in Oneida, N.Y. according to this piece at From the same source, Spadafora also provided voice work for semi-pro teams as well.

Funeral services will be held 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, at the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home in Canastota. Following, a funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. at St. Agatha’s Church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in Syracuse, N.Y.
