Speakers Prepare for NAB's Upcoming 'Responsible Programming Summit'

NAB has firmed up its agenda for the all-day industry summit on “responsible programming”. The association says invitations have been extended to both NAB member broadcasters and non-members.
The March 31 event is closed to press to give participants a free environment to discuss the indecency issues currently mounting for radio and TV broadcasters.
Among panelists and speakers confirmed to date are FCC Chairman Michael Powell and Commissioners Michael Copps and Kevin Martin. Representatives from these organizations are also planning to participate: AFTRA, Hubbard Radio, Emmis Radio, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and several TV organizations.
Some panel moderators are: WMAL(AM), Washington, Radio Host Chris Core; WJLA(TV) Washington, News Anchor Kathleen Matthews; and WFMP(FM), St. Paul, Minn. Radio Talk Host Ian Punnett.
