Speedway and Rural Radio Co-Host Event Honoring Rural America

World’s largest parade of pickup trucks and tractors during August 3 Indianapolis Motor Speedway event

August 3, Rural Radio, an operation of the Rural Media Group, will join forces with SiriusXM satellite radio and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to host a parade of pickup trucks at the Brickyard and will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for a parade of pickup trucks.

The festivities will feature a parade of antique tractors, music and entertainment from stars on RMG’s RFD-TV.

The pace of the 2 p.m. parade of pickup trucks around the track will be 5 miles per hour, allowing time for photographs and audience participation. It will be followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony commemorating the launch of Rural Radio on SiriusXM channel 80, and the event will continue until the grounds close at 6 p.m.

“We want to blow away the record, and are shooting for as many pickups as possible, from all 50 states,” stated Michael LaBroad, CMO of Rural Media Group. “Thirty one different states participated in our World Record Tractor Parade, and we want to try to get at least one family from every state represented.”

Both RFD-TV and Rural Radio will provide live coverage of the event, and RFD-TV will be taping new episodes of “Talkin’ Tractors” with the classic tractor owners on the infield.

All tractors and pickup trucks must preregister online. All registrations must be received by July 25.
